Blue Dragon's newest author, Mary Colburn-Green
Mary Colburn-Green considers herself a citizen of the world. A dual citizen of the US and Canada, she and her husband of 40 years have split their time during the past six years between homes in Canada, France and Spain, while also traveling extensively on business. Prior to this, first as a military dependent, then cultural anthropologist, and finally marketing agency owner for 35 years, she lived in multiple locations in the US, Canada, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
Now she, her husband, and their four Cavaliers King Charles Spaniels have settled. They chose the Languedoc-Roussillon Region of France where they’ve renovated a 160-year old stone wine maker’s house and adjacent wine “cave” in a small grape-growing village of 250 people.
Mary is a huge animal lover and has always had dogs in her life. In addition to caring for and writing about her fur babies, she shows her young Cavaliers in Europe and plans to breed them, when they are old enough, under the Kennel name, Sweet Love Cavaliers. At 69, she is dedicating her life to improving the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed through writing books, rescue support, and breeding health-tested dogs. She also spends time communicating with many of her approximately 2,500 “Cavalier friends” on Facebook, who’ve helped her create her books by contributing photographs and stories.
