Apps to Improve Your Writing…or Not

I read an article from NY Book Editors where they highlighted 18 different writing apps to help writers get motivated or organized. I tried out a handful of them to see if they were useful. First off, I must remind you that everyone is different. What works for me, may not work for you.
I used Microsoft Word for my writing. For me, it has everything I need. Some people would rather have more bells and whistles. According to this article, some want less bells and whistles. If you aren’t happy with what you are using, it’s worth checking out some of these options. If you are happy, there’s no need to change. Personally, I didn’t find any of these particularly earth shattering, although I am going to try 750Words for a while and see how it goes. I had started the manual writing version of data dumping my brain before getting down to work…and I have no idea where I put that notebook. May not be a good thing to leave laying around the house.

Gingko also intrigues me as an outlining/building tool. Seems like it would be best for papers or research, not novels, but it may be worth a try.
